Multiple EVs Unveiled By MG at 2026 Melbourne Motor Show: Expected Launch Timeline

Mind blowing news for all the car lovers, every new EVs and super hybrid unveiled at Melbourne Motor Show. From MG4 Urban to the U9 pickup, including British icons and rising Chinese challengers, with dozens of cars were showed at the Melbourne Exhibition.

At the Melbourne Motor Show, a total of four MG electrified vehicles were revealed, the MG4 XPower, MG U9 EV UTE, MG S6 EV, and IM LS9 EREV. These include fully electric SUVs and plug-in hybrids. Let’s explore all these EVs through this post.

What is Melbourne Motor Show?

The Melbourne Motor Show is a popular automotive event held in Australia where car brands showcase their latest vehicles and innovations. MG4 XPower

The MG4 Urban EV is a compact and lightweight fully electric hatchback designed for city driving. It comes with a four-door, four-wheel-drive setup, offering a spacious 382-litre boot that can be expanded up to 1266 litres. It comes with two battery options, 43 kWh and 54 kWh, it delivers a WLTP range of up to 405 km, making it a practical and efficient urban EV at an attractive starting price of $3190.

MG U9 EV UTE

The MG U9 EV UTE is a full-size, all-electric pickup built for both power and practicality. It comes equipped with a large 102 kWh LFP battery, offering strong performance and durability for heavy-duty use. Its bold, rugged design, massive cargo tray, and spacious interior, the U9 EV UTE is designed to handle both work and everyday comfort with ease.

MGS6 EV

The MGS6 EV is a premium full electric mid-size SUV offered in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. The RWD variant delivers up to 530 km WLTP range, while the AWD version adds an induction motor at the front and offers around 480 km range. Both variants come with a 77 kWh NMC battery, support 3.3 kW V2L capability, and feature a five-link multi-link suspension for a smoother ride.

IM LS9 EREV

The IM LS9 EREV is a premium 6-seater SUV and the final MG model unveiled at the show. It offers a luxury experience with a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, massaging seats in the first and second rows, and heated and ventilated seats even in the third row. The SUV also features a fold-down cinema screen, an electric armrest in the second row, four-wheel steering with a tight 5-metre turning radius, and a 5-metre-long body, with its launch expected in 2027.

U9 Pickup

The MG U9 Pickup is a full-size electric ute built for both performance and practicality. It comes with a powerful battery setup, a bold and rugged design, and a large cargo tray for heavy-duty use. Its  spacious and comfortable interior, the U9 Pickup is designed to handle work needs while offering a smooth driving experience.
